Pokémon Go Spotlight Hour
Pokémon Go Spotlight Hour
The Pokémon Go Spotlight Hour is a weekly event that highlights a specific Pokémon with an extra bonus effect.
The event lasts for one hour, typically between 6pm-7pm local time (1800-1900) on Tuesdays, and the Pokémon in the spotlight appears more frequently in the wild. This is an excellent time to obtain much needed candies to power-up or evolve the highlighted Pokémon. Since the Pokémon in the spotlight appears more frequently, there is a greater chance of catching an IV-star Pokémon or even a shiny!
The special bonus effect changes from time to time. The possible special effects can be double candy for transfers, double XP for evolutions, double stardust for catches, or double XP for catches.
The Spotlight Hour is like Community Day, just at a smaller scale. While not necessary to benefit from the event, going out to public places and using incense is a way to maximize the amount of Pokémon that appear and enhance the chance to catch a powerful Pokémon and/or a shiny!
